It has been another amazing year for the UK pet industry. With the nation’s pet lovers reportedly spending £4.6 billion a year on pampered pooches and mollycoddled moggies, British companies continue to cash-in with a constant supply of innovative and quirky products. We look back on a fascinating 12 months by highlighting the top 20 most read stories in Pet Trade Xtra this year.



One of the biggest stories of the year was Pets Corner buying competitor PamPurredPets, whose founder Steve Fowler (above right) was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Pet Industry Federation later in the year.
