Ex-Sainsbury’s Head of Business Development joins pet firm

Leading online pet retailer MedicAnimal has welcomed Justin James to the team as new Head of Product. Justin will play an integral role leading purchasing, range development and category strategy.

Justin joins the company from Sainsbury's where his most recent role was Head of New Business Development.

Justin spent over 20 years at Sainsbury's as a Senior Manager responsible for leading several buying categories and product development-related areas for its store and digital channels. While there, he was the key contact for third party business approaches and B2B business opportunities. His retail experience will be hugely beneficial for MedicAnimal.

MedicAnimal is taking a proactive step forward regarding business strategy in the form of investing in talented employees, developing the product range as well as focusing on the commercial strategy.

Camille Genevard, Sales and Marketing Director, commented: "We are really excited that Justin has joined the team and have no doubt that he will have a great impact on the business.

"We are investing a lot of time on our commercial strategy and product range to remain the UK's leading online pet retailer and the results are already strong. This festive period we saw a 243% increase on our Christmas range in comparison to the previous year. We expect increases to continue into 2017."

Justin Jame said: "I am delighted to be joining the MedicAnimal team at such an exciting time in its development and growth. I look forward to the opportunity of accelerating its plans over the next few years whilst ensuring that customers remain at the heart of everything that we do."
