Cornish pet shop up for sale for £195,000

The Pet Pantry in Helston, Cornwall, is on the market with an asking price of £195,000. The sale includes the pet supplies shop on the ground floor, store rooms on the first floor and a self-contained flat on the second floor.

The sale is being handled by SBC Property, of Truro. It is marketing the business as follows:

“The Pet Pantry is situated at 10b, Coinagehall Street, in a busy Ope that leads from one of the towns main car parks to the retail trading pitch of Coinagehall Street and Meneage Street. Helston is a small market town in South Cornwall, with a resident population in the region of 12,000 persons and is in striking distance of a number of tourist attractions and popular beaches.

“The property comprises a ground floor retail unit of approximately 35 sq m (375 sq ft) with first floor storage accommodation and a good sized separately accessed one bedroom flat.

“The building has been refurbished and well maintained over the recent years and offers flexible accommodation from which this business can continue to be expanded.

“Our clients who are reluctantly selling the business to pursue other interests, have run The Pet Pantry all year round, trading weekdays 9am to 5pm, and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.

“The business has been established in this location for in excess of 10 years and has returned consistent trading figures. The average turnover for the past five years is in the order of £160,000, with a net profit average of approximately £28,000.

“This therefore offers an opportunity to acquire a substantial freehold property with a profitable pet supplies business. We believe this will be of interest to not only those seeking a profitable retail business but also those pet owners wishing for a sound lifestyle purchase.”
