Pet pooch Jack wins nationwide photo competition

Jack, a three-year-old Jack Russell/ Manchester Terrier/Beagle cross, has been crowned the Nation's Favourite Autumn pet, after winning a competition run by cottage provider Snaptrip.
Beating 400 other entrants - from hens to bunnies - mischievous Jack's efforts to help owner Abbi Lawrence clear the leaves from the garden were enough to win £250 towards a pet-friendly cottage break and a dog-friendly goody bag.
Student Abbi, from Bury St Edmunds, said: “Writing essays is a challenge for me due to my dyslexia. Jack supported me when I became upset. He would lick and cuddle me, melting away my stress."
Matt Fox, CEO of Snaptrip, added: “Winter can be a pretty miserable time, with wet weather and increasingly dark mornings making it tempting to stay inside and hibernate. We thought it would be fun to see how people’s pets make the most of it, though, and how we probably should too.
"It’s amazing to hear how Jack has helped Abbi through some really tough times.”
