Pets Corner shortlisted for prestigious charity award

Pets Corner has been shortlisted in the Marketing Initiative of the Year category at this year’s Third Sector Business Charity Awards.

The awards, which are organised by Third Sector, a monthly magazine focusing on the voluntary and not-for-profit sectors, recognise an array of outstanding contributions from companies, and their respective collaborations with charities across the UK.

Pets Corner’s Give a Dog a Coat campaign, which supported the charity with the same name, aimed to help homeless dogs across the country to keep warm during the colder months.  Customers were invited to donate pre-loved, homemade and new dog coats via Pets Corner’s network of over 100 stores during November and December 2015 - for every coat received, Pets Corner donated a tasty doggy treat to the charity.

To date the campaign has collected over 225 dog coats as well as raised awareness for the charity on an international scale with donations coming from places as far flung as New Zealand and the USA.

Commenting on the announcement, Dean Richmond, Managing Director at Pets Corner, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that Pets Corner has been shortlisted for the Marketing Initiative of the Year Award for the Give a Dog a Coat campaign.

“As a company we donate more than 4% of our net profit to charities and dedicate a great deal of time to giving back to the communities around us - this includes helping charities both nationally and at a local level.

“The work that Give a Dog a Coat undertakes is extremely worthwhile and we are proud that our collaboration with them has enabled them to grow and develop their services so that more homeless dogs are being reached.  We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with them in the future.”

The winner of the Marketing Initiative of the Year Award will be unveiled at a gala dinner on Wednesday 20th April at the Hilton London Bankside.
