Eukanuba fuels champions at 125th anniversary of Crufts
This year, the world’s largest dog show is expected to be bigger than ever with 2016 marking 125 years of Crufts. As Principle Sponsor and the Kennel Club’s Official Partner in pet nutrition, Eukanuba will be fuelling the champions hoping to win the prestigious Crufts Best in Show award which will be announced on Sunday, March 13.

Eukanuba will also be hosting this year’s Friends For Life competition. The finalists will be joining Eukanuba to talk about their incredible stories of why their dogs have truly earned the title of man’s best friend. Additionally, last year’s winners, Amanda and Miracle, will be on stage with their new book which focuses on the emotional journey they have been on together.

Over the past four years, three out of four Crufts winners have been fed Eukanuba’s premium nutrition which uses high quality chicken or lamb as its principle protein source.

As it continues to demonstrate its dedication to fuelling champions to be the best they can be, Eukanuba will welcome GB Paralympic athlete and brand ambassador, Libby Clegg and her guide dog Hatti to the Eukanuba stand on Saturday March 12. Hatti is a truly extraordinary dog, supporting Libby as both a working dog and a beloved pet, giving her the confidence to live an independent and extraordinary life herself as one of our Rio para-athletes. Libby will be available for a signing, photograph opportunity, Q&A and interview.

From Friday to Sunday, Eukanuba is also hosting RAF officers and their dogs to showcase the extraordinary work they do and discuss the importance of keeping these dogs fit and healthy through premium nutrition and appropriate care.

Giuliano Buccino, Head of Marketing at Spectrum Pet Brands (UK & Ireland), comments: “Crufts is an iconic event celebrating every aspect of the role that dogs play in our lives, from working dogs to family pets, and this year will be bigger and better than ever as we mark 125 years of Crufts.

“At Eukanuba, we encourage owners to bring out the extraordinary in their dogs by providing them with super premium nutrition and appropriate care, and as such, we’re thrilled to be the Principle Sponsor of Crufts. Crufts is more than a dog show; it celebrates the unique relationship that we have with our pets and educates visitors on responsible pet ownership so you can enjoy a long, happy and healthy life with your beloved dog.”

The impact of Eukanuba along with appropriate care was discovered over a 10 + year observation and the results were unprecedented – nearly 90%* of Labrador Retrievers fed Eukanuba, together with appropriate care, lived beyond the breed’s typical twelve years life expectancy, some of them living 30% longer.

Eukanuba will be present in Hall 3 Stand 48 giving visitors the opportunity to learn more about the importance of providing dogs with the right tailored nutrition and appropriate care for their breed, life stage, and life style to enable them to live a long, healthy and more vibrant life.

Breeders and dog owners will have the opportunity to speak with veterinary expert Kellie Ceccarelli about their pets nutritional needs while Nicki Keeler offers top tips on training and Jill Gibson shares her knowledge on large and giant breed dogs.

Training demonstrations focusing on different breeds and their development needs will also be hosted each day at the event to educate visitors on the role of nutrition throughout a dog’s life. Lastly, Pets at Home Groom Room will be present to showcase how grooming is an essential part of caring for pets’ health and well-being and will provide grooming demonstrations and talks.
