Stand a chance of becoming UK Pet Retailer of the Year

Pet shops are being urged to enter the prestigious 2018 PetQuip Awards to stand a chance of walking off with the title UK Pet Retailer of the Year. The closing date for entries is June 30.

Cheshire-based Paws & Claws clinched Gold in the Awards last September and owners Jamie and Liz Gleave (pictured) admitted it had been a “game-changing” moment in their careers.

“This was a real honour for us and meant a great deal to us personally,” said Jamie. “We were incredibly proud to have won Gold in the category in 2017 against some serious competition from other long-established and innovative businesses across the UK.”

The PetQuip Awards will be presented at a special dinner on the first evening of PATS Telford on Saturday, September 23.

Entry to the awards is free for all to enter. Companies can put themselves forward for the awards or can be nominated by retailers and suppliers.

Entries will be put through an initial screening test, finalists will then be named before the independent judging panel sits down to choose the winners at the end of August.

Supplier entries are judged by a panel of retailers, retail entries by a team of independent specialists with retailing and marketing experience.

Entry categories are:

  • Businees of the Year
  • Pet Product Innovation of the Year
  • Exporter of the Year
  • Marketing Project of the Year
  • UK Pet Retailer of the Year
  • International Pet Retailer/Distributor of the Year
  • Lifetime Achievement

Complete entries need to be sent to pat@petquip.com by June 30.
