Vetspeed mourns passing of one of its co-founders

Vetspeed has announced the passing of one of its esteemed co-founders, Clive Jackman. Clive, who passed away peacefully on 27th October 2023, was a driving force in the establishment of Vetspeed's foundational principles and ethos.

Clive Jackman played a pivotal role in the formative years of CPC Cares, Vetspeed’s leading company, specifically in the development of the individual cremation service. His unwavering dedication saw him extend heartfelt support to countless pet owners during their times of sorrow. Clive’s deep connections within the veterinary industry made him indispensable to many, and he was always surrounded by both colleagues and friends.

Clive's indomitable spirit led to the pioneering of pet cremation in the UK during the late 1970s, an innovation initially met with scepticism. Against all odds, his vision became an integral component of end-of-life care for pet owners. The media spotlight of the 1980s sought Clive out as pet cremation emerged as the preferred choice for compassionate pet owners.

Ray Hale, co-founder of Vetspeed, fondly recollects their shared experiences. "I have many memories working with Clive, and I learned so much from him. Clive's legacy continues to resonate, evident in the Christmas cards still received from clients to this day."

Clive Jackman's philosophical approach to life and death was evident in his anticipation of reuniting with his late wife, Sheila, and being surrounded by the cherished pets he had dutifully cared for over the years.

As Vetspeed mourns the loss of its co-founder, the organisation remains committed to honouring his vision and values, ensuring that his compassionate ethos continues to guide its future endeavours.
