Residents object to pet food factory plans to tackle ‘obnoxious’ smell
Plans to deal with strong odours from a pet food factory are set to be given the green light by the local planning committee next week despite objections from residents.
Councillors will consider an application for a 35-metre chimney at the Real Pet Food factory, which would tower over the village of Bodelwyddan in Denbighshire.
The Real Pet Food Company wants to build the chimney to deal with smells from the factory which had led to complaints. Planners have recommended that councilors vote in favour of the project.
But the local committee have written to the planning committee, saying: “The residents of Bodelwyddan should not be compelled to choose between affected by an obnoxious smell or the visual impact of a 35-metre chimney to alleviate the problem.”
