Pet retailers shine in window display competition

Cheltenham-based pet retailer Be More Bob has been crowned the overall winner of the ‘Paws in Spring’ 2026 campaign, a nationwide celebration of pet retailers organised by the Pet Industry Federation.

The competition, now in its second year, invited pet shops across the UK to create vibrant, spring-themed window displays showcasing their creativity, product ranges and connection with their local communities.

The judging panel praised the exceptionally high standard of entries, noting the level of thought, effort and originality demonstrated by retailers across the country.

Two further pet retailers were also recognised for their standout displays:

  • Second place: Dog House Deli
  • Third place: Wag & Bone

These top three retailers will share a significant prize bundle made up of stock and exclusive trade offers, generously contributed by a wide range of suppliers.

A total of 15 manufacturers supported this year’s campaign, including: Baker & Brey, Betty Miller, Canny Co, Cobbydog, Dot Dot Pet, Durham Animal Feeds, Groom + Kind, Landguth, Milla & Max, Natures Menu, Nutriment, Pup & Kit, Tug-E-Nuff, Woof & Brew, Scamp & Paw and Neerdog.

Nigel Baker, CEO of PIF, said: “The standard this year was incredibly high and it’s been a real pleasure to see the thought and creativity that retailers have put into their displays. Competitions like this highlight the strength of independent pet retail and the important role these businesses play in their local communities.

"We’re also extremely grateful to the manufacturers who have supported the campaign with such generous prize donations.”

Sharon Glazzard from winning retailer, Be More Bob, said: “We are so thrilled to win the Paws in Spring 2026 window competition! The window has been a real hit with our customers and our online community. People have been enjoying the bright and cheerful colours and it's gained a lot of 'ooooohs and ahhhhs' from passers by! The competition has provided us with great conversations in store and lots of cheerful content to share on social media.”

Paws in Spring forms part of PIF’s ongoing work to champion the UK pet retail sector and drive engagement with local pet shops.
