Vet practice celebrates double-digit growth

Launched back in 2019, Kent-based Associated Veterinary Services arrives at this year’s PIF awards as both a nominee Pet Service Business of the Year and sponsor of the prestigious Export Business Award.

These are indeed heady times for a young, ambitious veterinary practice currently enjoying significant, double-digit growth (+29% Vs 2022); a business launched by Dr Veneta Kozhuharova, a leading export-savvy veterinarian, export advisor and canine/feline nutritionist.

Post Brexit, Veneta and her blossoming team spied an untapped opportunity to support seamless animal export, unpicking all the unwieldly and debilitating red tape that can hinder even the most rudimentary travelling procedures, creating a foolproof procedure for individuals and businesses looking for meticulous veterinary guidance at ‘everyday affordable’ price points.

Dr Veneta said: "I could foresee all the unwelcome uncertainty, expense and paper trail bottlenecks that were coming down the track to frustrate families and stifle the export of ambitious British businesses already facing up to the manifold financial unknowns of a precarious Post pandemic world."

In 2021 Associated Veterinary Services announced its arrival as a pioneering, RCVS registered veterinary service with a far-reaching remit to support a diverse array of animal-loving individuals and animal-centric business that needed to keep operating seamlessly across International borders. What began as a simple veterinary vision to support the free movement of both commercially & privately-owned small animals has subsequently evolved to include a pioneering ‘Export Academy,’ which provides best-in-class training for all exporters out of the UK (pets & pets foods).

"It’s certainly been a tough yet rewarding year for our fledgling business," concludes Veneta. "A PIF shortlisting couldn’t come at a better time to remind our small team what a significant distance we’ve travelled in such a short time frame.   So many awards are product centric, so it’s fantastic that the PIF annual awards champions a number of categories that celebrate the UK’s best-in-class Pet Services sector."
