Award-winning brand moves towards sustainable range

The award-winning Henry Wag brand is taking big steps to minimise the negative impact its products have on the environment and create a more sustainable product range.

 

Grant Rogers, managing director of the brand’s parent company 3P Enterprise, said: “Our objective is to reduce waste (including CO2), create sustainable design and use materials which are recycled or renewable. 

 

“Many of our products are manufactured using polyester fibres. In the first stage of our sustainability project, we have identified our drying towels coats and bags which are made of either 70% or 80% polyester. Working closely with our suppliers we have been able to switch to GRS recycled polyester as the raw material for these product ranges in line with our company business objectives. 

“As this change is introduced, the products will be supplied in new-look multi-lingual packaging showing the recycled elements of the products, a new brand tag line and a 2D barcode linking to Buyer Dock providing the consumer with language specific product information on product waste, recyclability, sustainability and washing information. These new packs create a new fresh look for the brand and will give the range greater impact when displayed in store.

 

“This represents the first step for Henry Wag in a program to move away from using virgin materials in our products where possible. Stage 2 of the project will focus on the car seat and boot covers. We are also working with suppliers closer to the UK to reduce product miles and investigating the use of plant-based fibres for use in our products.”
