Change of premises pays off for pet store

 

Moving premises from an industrial estate to a busy high street has paid off for a family-run pet store.

 

Since the move last month, Frankie and Twinkle’s has witnessed an increase in footfall, leading to improved trading figures.

 

Owners Ruth and Malcolm Riley had run their business on an industrial estate for 18 months but decided it was time for a move. After an intensive search they found an empty unit in Seahouses, Northumberland.

 

“We’ve now got the first month in our new premises under our belt and have noticed a significant increase in trade due to being on the high street of a major tourist hotspot with passing trade and greater footfall, rather than being on an industrial estate in an outlying area,” said Malcolm.

 

“Although our new place is smaller than our old place we still have all the same stock available and if we don't have something we can usually get it in a few days. We try and concentrate our efforts on natural products which seems to be going down well with locals and visitors alike.”
