TV personality to present animal welfare awards

Renowned television presenter, Matt Baker, host of The One Show and Countryfile, will be hosting the prestigious 2018 Ceva Animal Welfare Awards.

With broadcast credits also spanning One Man and His Dog, Animal Rescue Squad, Wild Alaska Live, Big Blue Live and Blue Peter, together with a love of the countryside and animals borne from growing up on his family’s sheep farm in the Durham Dales, Matt was the natural choice for fronting this year’s awards.

He will co-host the awards alongside esteemed head judge, the retired veterinary surgeon, Chris Laurence MBE FRCVS, who puts his name to the Vet of the Year Award.

“The countryside and love of animals are in my blood and I am passionate about improving animal welfare both in the UK and abroad,” comments Matt Baker.

“I applaud the Ceva Animal Welfare Awards for recognising both individuals and organisations who dedicate their lives to enhancing animal welfare and I look forward to personally acknowledging and thanking them for the work they do at the awards.”

Cuneyt Seckin, managing director of Ceva Animal Health, adds: “We are thrilled to have Matt on board to help reward the crème de la crème of animal welfare professionals and organisations.  We’re sure that his love of animals, the countryside and farming will make Matt a true asset to the awards.”

The Ceva Animal Welfare Awards take place during a glitzy ceremony held in Birmingham ahead of BSAVA Congress on 4th April 2018.
