Pawtato launches new purple dog chew

Benevo, the vegan pet food company given the highest Ethical Pet Food Company score by The Good Shopping Guide two years in a row, has announced the launch of a new meat-free dog chew in its Pawtato Dog Chew range made from nutritient rich purple sweet potato.

A strikingly unique spin on its first innovative and best selling complementary ‘Pawtato Knots’ dog chews, which are a vegan raw-hide alternative made from 87% nutritious orange sweet potato, blended with rice.

Pawtato Purple Knots have introduced to the world of complementary dog foods, a treat that is not only visually different with it’s deep purple colour but truly ethical and hypoallergenic.

Free from many common allergens such as wheat, dairy and beef, as well as soya, these meat-free treats are an ideal for dogs that suffer from sensitivities.

Director Darrell de Vries said: “Sweet potato is an amazing source of vitamins, minerals and fibre and well as healthy phytonutrients, but we wanted to challenge ourselves to develop a new premium chew through using plants alone rather than additives and our research led us to purple sweet potato. It aligned perfectly with our product range and technology and has raised the bar again for tasty, nutritious and sustainable dog chews.”

Made from only natural ingredients, Purple Sweet Potatoes are high in anthocyanins, the pigment which provides the rich purple colour to the potato. It’s a natural antioxidant, with anti-inflammatory properties, making them an excellent superfood.
