Popular pet centre set to close at the end of February

A popular Lancashire pet store is closing down at the end of the month after failing to get its lease renewed.

Charnock Farm Pet and Gift Centre in Wigan Road, Leyland, confirmed the news in a statement on its Facebook page, leaving local pet lovers in a state of shock and sadness.

The centre’s statement on its Facebook page said:

“It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you all that on Saturday 29 February 2020, Charnock Farm Pet and Gift Centre will close its doors for the final time! This is due to the landlord not renewing our lease.

“We would all like to take this opportunity to thank you all from the bottom our hearts for your continued support.

“Running a small business hasn’t been easy and unfortunately we have become another local shop to disappear!

“We would like to say a special thank you to all of you who have trusted us to look after your pets. We have loved every minute and will miss them so much. We are all devastated and so upset.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart – Sue, Harrison, Janice and Paige the Charnock Farm Pet and Gift Centre team.”

The announcement was greeted with dismay and disappointment from customers with 230 comments from well-wishers being posted on the Facebook page.
