Independent Vetcare announces New Graduate Academy partners

Independent Vetcare has announced 10 official partners for its New Graduate Academy 2016/17 support programme.

The Independent Vetcare New Graduate Academy partners have been carefully selected to help continue to build on the already highly successful CPD element of the academy, ensuring a balanced programme is delivered that enhances the skills used in practice, through a wide variety of teaching methods including many hands-on practical sessions.

  • Zoetis

Thanks to the programmes partners, Independent Vetcare is again looking forward to welcoming external specialist speakers, to join those from within Independent Vetcare practices to deliver both clinical and non-clinical CPD, for the two formal year groups that make up the academy programme.

In this its third year, the academy will welcome up to 60 newly qualified veterinary surgeons into a variety of Independent Vetcare practices throughout the UK. It is a testament to the programme that practices with a new graduates from previous year’s intake, have been so impressed with the calibre of vets and the advancement of their skills in practice due to the structured support and training provided, that they are taking on a second or third this September.

“We strongly believe that our academy should provide the very best support both in practice through an individual’s clinical coach and personal mentor, as well as providing the very best impartment of knowledge from peers at the top of their specialist fields right from the start of their careers” said Richard Parker, Head of HR at Independent Vetcare. It is because of this belief that Independent Vetcare not only provides training for new graduates on the programme, but also coaching and mentoring training for those that are charged with the clinical development of these new vets in their practice. Yet the support doesn’t stop there…

In addition to the 12 days of exceptional CPD organised out of practice in year alone, each student receives in-practice clinical coaching, a non-clinical personal mentor, and support from a IVC Group Veterinary Advisor who has extensive knowledge not only in clinical matters but also, team building and the day to day running of a modern practice.

This kind of support from IVC’s own in house staff and key players in the veterinary industry, demonstrates Independent Vetcare’s ambition to be the number one employer of choice for veterinary staff.
