Pet brand Furr Boost to appear on Dragons’ Den

Husband and wife team Ian and Louise Toal, directors of award-winning brand Furr Boost, will appear on the BBC One hit programme Dragons’ Den this evening (8pm Thursday), becoming the fourth pet company to appear in the current series.

Furr Boost won Best New Product at the PetQuip and PIF Awards in 2022 and made the regional finals of the Start-up Awards last year. The brand also reached the final 10 businesses in the new PIF Innovation Award.

The company’s products are available to buy online and in pet shops across the UK, including Pets at Home and Jollyes, and it is now looking to export abroad.

Promoting this evening’s episode the BBC said: “The ideas seeking the Dragons' investment are an at-home manicure business, a range of doggie drinks, an inclusive magazine for visually impaired children and a new take on the traditional bean bag.”

Already this series, cat product inventor Victor Carpio has clinched an £45,000 investment offer for his innovative Dental Wand from Deborah Meaden.

And Lancashire entrepreneur Gemma Connolly of Scoff Paper, who’s created a unique brand of edible greeting cards for dogs, secured £50,000 backing from Sara Davies.

Dog treat firm PARK LiFE was the latest pet brand to appear owith founder Richard Marles turning down investment from Peter Jones and Touker Suleyman.
