The Pet Food Manufacturers' Association welcomes in its new Chairman, Tony Parkinson, Managing Director of Town & Country Petfoods, a family-run business based in Melton Mowbray, which includes the HiLife brand of dog and cat foods.
Tony takes over from Peter Kersh, Managing Director of World Feeds.
“Peter will be a tough act to follow,” Tony comments “but I’m looking forward to the challenge. I’m delighted that he and I will continue to work together over the next two years, along with the new Vice Chairman, Derek Evans from Butchers Pet Care.
“Our role is to support the excellent team at PFMA through the very specific difficulties the industry faces over Brexit and pursue our ambitious vision to confirm the UK’s position at the forefront of the world’s pet food industry for years to come.”
Michael Bellingham, PFMA Chief Executive, added: “Tony has been supporting PFMA for many years at our Executive Committee and alongside Peter and Derek, we are in very capable and experienced hands. We would also like to extend our thanks to Peter, who came in to the role not anticipating Brexit, but has risen to the challenge nonetheless with his trademark energy and a clear sense of direction. We look forward to continuing the journey with the Chair team.”
