Jollyes set to open its 124th store in UK

Award-winning pet retailer Jollyes Pets will be rolling out its red carpet at the opening of its 124th store at Wyvern Retail Park in Derby tomorrow (Friday 10 July).

The store has created seven roles and will be run by interim store manager Leanne Jones. Leanne has been with Jollyes for nine months and currently runs its Ilkeston store.

Over the past three years Jollyes has almost doubled the number of stores it operates across the UK. So far this year it’s brought its combination of low prices and pet expertise to Blackpool, Ponders End, Hartlepool, Whitehaven, Lincoln and Kidderminster.

The official opening highlights at Derby include:

  • Mayor Jonathan Smale will officially cut the red ribbon
  • The National Foundation for Retired Service Animals (NFRSA), Jollyes’ national charity partner, will be at the opening, and a retired prison service dog Broon and a retired explosives search dog Mickey will bite through a string of sausages to help open the store
  • Win a prize on Jollyes’ iconic Wheel of Fur-tune and pick up a goody bag
  • Jollyes Summer Squad campaign kicks off with free ice-cream for dogs to keep them cool
  • On Saturday customers will also be entertained with music and games, with prizes to be won throughout the day.

In-store features:

  • An expanded range of food and accessories for cats and a chilled and frozen raw food section which is currently exploding in popularity amongst pet owners
  • Jollyes’ exclusive delivery service via Uber Eats – delivering pet food and toys in as little as 30 minutes to customers within a five miles radius of the store
  • It offers new fresh food ranges which are currently being rolled out across 15 pilot Jollyes stores, as pet owners demand even more choice for their pets. The new fresh ranges, which build on the ‘humanisation’ trend in pets, include over 30 meals such as Turkey Triumph or Cod Crew from Tuggs, fresh cooked beef or salmon from Dibo, salmon, lamb, beef or chicken from Nutriment and Tasty Turkey or luscious lamb from Wilsons.

Derby will be Jollyes’ fourth store in Derbyshire – it opened a new store last year in Chesterfield, one in Swadlincote in 2023 alongside operating a store in Ilkeston for some time.
