Cambridgeshire Flyball crowned European champions

CSJ were thrilled to see Ellen’s blow by blow account of how Cambridgeshire Flyball battled against other stunning teams to become European Flyball Champions 2026.

Here’s how Ellen explained the nail-biting races …

“We took 2 teams out to the EFC 2026 - European Flyball Championship in Germany. Both teams have worked hard this year to prepare and it showed!

"We hoped to make division 1 with our CANINES team but with the incredible level of competition at the event it was touch and go. But we did and it was then a case of how far can we get.

"A nice first race against Ultra High Risk saw us have our first win. Then we met the awesome Jolly Jumpers who wiped us out in a 3-0 race putting us into the losers bracket. So it was the hard way from this point forward.

"The first race in the losers bracket saw us meet ultra high risk again. With clean racing we took the win 3-1.

"Unfortunately our next race was against an empty lane as our good friends at Barking 4 Balls had had to pull (we were sad not to race you guys). So an easy win for us and on we went.

"Next up were the mighty Titans and an unfortunate poo-nami saw us start the race 1 heat down. We battled back to 2-2. Then came a tie. And finally we got that 3rd heat to advance and into the podium positions!

"Next up was a re-match with Flyvaryors who we battled again in div 2 at the FOWC. Some nice solid racing saw us take another win and we were into the finals!!!

"We met Jolly Jumpers again in the finals and with them being unbeaten we had our work cut out for us! The first race was nail bitting and tight… but we secured a 3-2 win to force a re-final in div 1!

"After a short break for our amazing dogs we stepped back into the ring. We went 2-0 down and it looked like we were on our way out. But some fantastic racing saw us claw our way back to 2-2.

"The last heat was literally **** or bust. We pushed everything we had from our amazing dogs and we did it! Winning the 5th heat by 0.06s making us EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS.

HUGE Thank you to Aces High Flyball Team for lending us two dogs. We could never have done this without them. We loved having Joe, Tye and Ollie with us too, incredible team mates.
