Animal Focused Alliance founder named in Power List

Animal Focused Alliance founder Vicky Skinner has been named in the Women in Trade Associations Power List, with the recognition announced on International Women’s Day.

The accolade recognises women making a significant impact within trade associations and professional bodies. For the companion animal sector, the recognition also highlights the rapid progress made by the Animal Focused Alliance, which has established itself as a voice for pet professionals in less than a year since launching.

The Alliance was created to support pet businesses across the sector, including dog groomers, walkers, trainers, and other animal service providers, while promoting high standards of animal welfare, professionalism, and regulatory awareness.

Since launching, the organisation has developed a growing network of members and partnerships across the sector. This includes establishing a Primary Authority partnership with both the City of London Corporation and Monmouthshire County Council, designed to provide clarity and consistency around regulatory expectations for pet professionals operating under the Licensing of Activities Involving Animals Regulations.

Commenting on the recognition, Vicky said: "It’s an honour to be included in the Women in Trade Associations Power List, particularly in our first year of business. The Animal Focused Alliance was created to support pet professionals and promote the highest standards of animal welfare, so this recognition reflects the work happening across the sector and the support we’ve received from our members and partners."

The Animal Focused Alliance continues to focus on ensuring pet professionals have access to the tools, knowledge, and representation needed to navigate an evolving regulatory landscape while maintaining high welfare standards.
