Swedish pet care giant appoints new CEO

Swedish pet care company Petbuddy Group, whose brands include Little BigPaw, has named Paul van der Raad as its new CEO. He will take up his new position on January 1, 2025.

With nearly three decades of experience in the global pet industry, van der Raad will lead the company into its next phase, focusing on innovation, sustainability and expanding market reach.

“I look forward to working closely with the PBG team and trusted business partners to drive meaningful growth and further our shared commitment to responsible pet care," he said. "I am thrilled to embrace their mission: 'We build sustainable pet brands that do good for pets, pet parents, and the planet.'"

Most recently, van der Raad served as the global director of New Business Development at Protix, an insect protein ingredient company, and previously as CEO of two Danish companies, Henne Pet Food and Vital Petfood Group.

Newton Aguiar, chairman of PBG, said: “Paul’s expertise in the pet industry strongly positions him to guide PBG towards a future focused on quality, sustainability and growth. We’re excited to see PBG continue serving pet owners worldwide with innovative products they can trust.”

Petbuddy Group AB, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is a leader in the super-premium pet food and care sector, uniting a portfolio of pioneering brands dedicated to improving pet health and well-being. The brands include Thrive, Little Big Paw, Comfy Collar, and Nutrolin.
