Butcher's named in The Times' Top 100 profit list

Independent British pet food firm, Butcher’s Pet Care, the company behind dog and cat food brands Butcher’s and the newly introduced Cuffleberry and Co, is positioned at number 66 in The Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100.

Profits grew to £7.3 million in 2015 supported by  production efficiencies at its Northamptonshire factory, growth in local and international markets and new product launches, which sees Butcher’s now producing 6 million cans and trays of dog and cat food each week, exporting to Italy, Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe.

The company has confirmed £10 million is being invested to continue to foster the British pet food manufacturer’s growth at home and abroad.

The  business development programme for Butcher’s includes expansion works to the state of the art factory enabling the company to continue to produce premium quality products for pets, and the introduction of new product lines to meet evolving consumer needs in the competitive, global market place.

Chairman Graham Baker founded the business in 1983 to use the products from the family’s butchery business.

Graham and Derek Evans, Managing Director, have confirmed the Crick-based company now has sales approaching £100 million.
