Pets saved from house fire given CPR and oxygen
Pets rescued from a house fire have been given oxygen and CPR by firefighters.
Lilly the dog was fitted with an oxygen mask after the blaze in Craghead, near Stanley, Co Durham.
Oxygen therapy and CPR was also give to the family’s pet cat.
A spokesman for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said: “Our crews attended a house fire in Craghead near Stanley this morning and saved the lives of the family dog and cat.
"Sally the dog was given oxygen and the cat both oxygen and CPR at the scene.
“Both are now expected to make a full recovery. Thankfully, no one else was injured in the incident and the fire was quickly extinguished. Well done to all involved.”
