Argos targets cat owners by selling half a Christmas tree

Argos is selling Christmas trees with the bottom half removed – to make them safe for homes with playful cats and dogs.

The tree stands at 6ft but the branches and decorations starting halfway up, thus removing temptation from pets who might otherwise play with low-hanging branches and baubles.

Called the Home 6ft Half Parasol Christmas Tree, it retails at £33.33 or £37.50 for a snowy version.

An added benefit of the tree is that there’s plenty of room to pack your presents underneath – just make sure they are pet friendly too!
