BETA's Summer of Safety 2024 has begun

The British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) has started its Summer of Safety campaign for 2024.

This is the fourth year that one of BETA's most popular campaigns has been celebrated, growing each year in terms of retailer support, brand support, rider engagement and information shared. This year's is set to be incredible.

“Equestrian sport isn't free from risk, but through the Summer of Safety, we work with our members across the retail and trade space, to demystify safety, educate equestrians, share some great prizes, and celebrate our sport,” said Claire Williams, Executive Director for BETA.

“Although riding hats, body protectors and the associated standards will always make up part of the Summer of Safety, we also look at other aspects, such as feed, tack and yard safety, along with horse health and biosecurity. It's a campaign we're incredibly proud of and each year we're blown away by the support received from all areas.”

The campaign is supported by BETA retailers who provide professional advice on all things safety, and many run great offers during the flight of the campaign too. Additionally, brands have provided prizes, tips and videos that BETA will be sharing across its social media, which complements the series of lives that are planning to be shared too.

The campaign will cover:

  • Rider safety – hats, body protectors, shoulder protectors, air vests and safety standards
  • Tack safety – bridle, bit and saddle safety in addition to leather care
  • Yard safety – biosecurity, horse health and horse and rider safety
  • Riding and road safety
  • Feed room safety
