Hector’s hot on the heels of his ancestors!

CSJ’s agents are a clever lot, with most combining their canine hobbies such as showing, agility, gundogs or sled dog racing with supplying CSJ to fellow competitors and contacts.

Debra Harker of Ettrick Gordon Setters is a great example – she’s been involved in showing dogs for over 40 years and says: “Although I’m one of CSJ’s smaller distributors I sell virtually a full range of their dog food.  All my customers think CSJ is the best food ever and their dogs look amazing on it.  They can’t understand why people would use anything else.”

Her current dog, Hector (Ch. Hernwood Achilles at Ettrick) now has 10 CC’s and 6 RCC’s, after winning another RCC at the breed Championship Show in April.

Hector’s direct ancestor (Debra’s first Gordon Setter) Sh Ch/Ir Sh Ch Hernwood Crystal Graphite became the first male English/Irish Champion and became top male in the breed with 21 CC’s and 17 RCC’s so Hector has had a hard act to follow.

Debra says: “Super proud of Hector and how good he looks, all down to CSJ which he has been on since a puppy.”

He had a brilliant start to his career with 6 x Best Puppy In Breed, including 2 breed shows and Crufts 2018, and became top Gordon in the country, but then came Bath Ch show where, at his first show in Junior, Hector won his class and then went on to win Reserve DCC.  It was certainly a day to remember for Debra as it is unusual for such a young dog to take such high awards.

Debra commented, “Hector is as ever fuelled on CSJ’s CP21.  Looking fabulous!”

Who knows how close he’ll get to his stunning ancestor’s tally … but one thing’s for certain, both he and his proud owner are having lots of fun along the way.
