Dog group behaviour seminar for pet professionals
|
The Pet Industry Federation has announced details of a seminar on canine behaviour in a group setting, aimed at businesses such as dog daycares, home boarders and dog walkers, where understanding dogs’ temperament in an environment that includes a mix of dogs is crucial to maintaining harmony and safeguarding welfare.
Taking place on Sunday 14 July at Willow Tree Canine Daycare in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, the day-long seminar will be delivered by Yvonne Mackender DipCAB of the Centre of Applied Pet Ethology.
The course is an ideal contribution to staff training requirements as part of the Animal Activities Licensing regulations. The day will cover: assessing temperament, introducing dogs to established groups, how dogs learn and communicate; as well as including practical observations of dogs in a group environment and intervention tactics.
The seminar costs £125 for non-members and £100 for PIF members and includes refreshments and a CPD certificate to evidence attendance.
Places are limited and can be secured by contacting the Pet Industry Federation on 01234 273933 or emailing education@petfederation.co.uk
