Dog food brand Years recalls its fresh meals

Dog food brand Years has issued a recall of its fresh meals (excluding Chef's Collection) following reports of dogs having a potential adverse eye reaction to buckwheat, a common and approved ingredient included in its meals.

According to Years, the adverse eye reaction had affected 0.1% of its customers as of 16th August.

The company said on its website: “We know for some, this will strike as overly cautious but at Years, we will always put every dog's health and wellbeing first. Your subscription is paused for six weeks, and we will be reformulating our recipes, without buckwheat.”

Pet owners, who subscribe to Years, have been advised to stop feeding the brand’s fresh meals immediately, whether their dog is experiencing symptoms or not.

The six-week pause in subscriptions will give Years enough time to freshly cook meals using quinoa in place of buckwheat.

Years has promised to arrange a free collection of any unused meals and apply a full credit for the order.
