Surge of interest for pet firm after Dragons' Den appearance

The Barking Bakery experienced a surge of interest in its business after owner Michelle Turnbull appeared on BBC TV hit show Dragons’ Den.

Although Michelle was turned by the five Dragons, she believes her company has benefitted from the TV exposure.

Michelle asked for an investment of £75,000 for a 15% stake in the business but none of the Dragons made an offer.

“I have no regrets of appearing on the programme although it was a challenging experience,” said Michelle.

“And since the programme was aired recently, interest in my company and products has soared. The day after the show my website crashed because of the amount of people visiting it. Plus I’ve lots of offers from investors although I haven’t accepted any of them.

“Yes, I would do it again, purely from the amount of exposure it gives you.”
