CSJ congratulates top two Gundog Teams at Game Fair

As sponsors of both Ireland and Wales gundog teams CSJ were delighted when Ireland topped the Spaniel teams and Wales came out top Retriever team.

Held over the weekend of 29th and 30th July at Hatfield House the bad weather initially threatened to put a damper on things for spectators but the excitement of the spectacle of top working dogs in their element soon overcame all thoughts of the elements.

The Wales Retriever team led by Team Captain Alan Rees amassed a total of 501 points and consisted of members V. Stanley with Lab dog Minstead Maigret;  B. Williams with Lab dog Llangunwood Celtic Oak;  A. Rees with Lab dog Fendawood Ecclestone at Delfryd;  N. Probert with Lab bitch Slipside Danzy Jones and V. Stanley with Lab dog FTCh Patanavac Brough.

Willie Edgar was Team Captain of Ireland’s winning Spaniel Team which gained a total of 477 points - the full team being W. Megaughin with ESS bitch Woodlandbank Joyce of Mountdavys; L. Rice with ESS bitch Ir FTCh Island Snipe of Sliabh; W. Edgar with ESS dog Greenbrush Iced; L. Rice with ESS bitch Ir FTCh Sliabh Cushla and I. Blair with ESS dog FTCh Clodahill Nofler of Carnteel.

CSJ’s founder Ceri Rundle said: “We are so proud to be associated with such superb handlers and dogs… the competition was hot and we can’t speak too highly of everyone concerned.”
