Two further course dates for the City & Guilds Level 2 Certificates of Technical Competence in Dog Walking have today been announced by the Pet Industry Federation.
The Level 2 City & Guilds Certificate in Dog Walking deals with the main issues and responsibilities that professional dog walkers encounter during their work.
Each comprehensive course covers first-aid, handling with emergencies, legislation; roles and responsibilities of the professional, as well as practical skills in assessing the dogs’ behaviour and walking requirements.
The accredited qualification provides reassurance and peace of mind to pet owners that their pets are in the best possible hands.
The inaugural dog walking course held in May generated excellent feedback, with one student summing it up, stating: "This course has been invaluable to my dog walking business, I have learnt an extraordinary amount in such a small amount of time. I wish this course had been available when I started my business, I believe every walker should undertake it, it’s well worth the cost."
The new course dates are:
14 – 16 July – Hadlow College, Kent
19 – 21 September – PIF office, Bedford
Each course is run over two and-a-half days, and the assessment will be undertaken by City & Guilds approved assessors and will comprise written tasks and practical assignments. The cost for each course is £250 for PIF members and £300 for non-members.
