Change of ownership saves pet shop from closure

New owners have intervened to prevent the closure of a popular pet shop.

Cracks Pet Foods in Beccles, Norfolk, was due to close at the end of July because of retirement of current owners.

But thanks to a change of ownership the store in Blyburgate will continue to operate, much to the delight of its local customers.

In a post on social media, Tracy Tustin, who has announced the closure in an earlier Facebook message, said: “I am pleased to announce that Cracks Pet Foods will no longer be closing on the 31st July, but will from the 1st August be under new ownership.

“Myself and Ann Riches will still be there to help with anything you need. Thank you also for all the lovely messages and good wishes. And we hope that you will continue to support the business and new owner.”

Customers responded on social media with comments like:

  • “Fabulous news, congratulations to you and Anne, so pleased that the town is keeping this lovely shop.”
  • “That's absolutely wonderful.”
  • “Great news, well done to you both.”
  • “The best news.”
