WHM Pet Group, a family-run company with headquarters in Holme Upon Spalding Moor, East Yorkshire and a large mill in Driby, Lincolnshire, hosted a spellbinding celebration of farming, family and food  last week.  

More than 150 special guests were entertained with a heritage extravaganza showcasing 200 years of milling, including the dramatic appearance of one of the last steam engines ever built.  The event also celebrated the relaunch of WHM Pet Group's pet food brand Marriage’s.

Guests were treated to a three-course meal, themed around the evolution of the food industry, which the family has served for many generations.  Sam Marriage, Managing Director of WHM Pet Group then presented a family history of farming and milling spanning 600 years, including a spectacular outdoor video display, which took the guests on a fascinating journey through time. The family's Brigadier Steam Engine, which was in service from 1934-1948, and has recently been fully restored arrived against a backdrop of fireworks before a beacon was lit with a flaming torch, symbolising the passing of business through the generations. 

Sam Marriage said: “This special day took many months of planning; it was incredible to see it come to life so beautifully.
