Extended Black Friday causing issues with deliveries
 |
CSJ is warning about problems caused by Black Friday having become a seven-day event instead of the original one day.
Director Phil Rundle says that a week-long spike in sales of products is causing issues with deliveries, such as …
- orders taking longer to be delivered
- damages
- deliveries being taken to the wrong address
- product being left (sometimes just dumped) other than in the designated place
Phil added: “The difficulties are often caused by carriage companies taking on additional delivery personnel to deal with the extra volume…and their consequential lack of experience.
“It all makes for frustration in the time taken to sort out the resulting problems and the redirection or, in some cases the re-issuing of orders, damage claims etc.
“As a result, this year we are urging our customers to plan ahead and aim to place orders (especially food) early so they can be received before the dreaded Black Friday week.”
