Pets Corner, one of the UK’s largest pet retail chains with over 150 outlets, has opened its first ‘worldwide flagship’ store in Ascot.

The Ascot store, which opened on Friday followed by a grand opening weekend event, is set to be the first of 10 new outlets the company hopes to have up and running before the end of the year.

Dean Richmond, owner of Pet Family, said: “Pets Corner Ascot is our 151st opening, and it's thanks to the loyal custom we’ve had from customers since our launch over 55 years ago. Pet owners are more discerning than ever, as pets are often the most important member of the household, and our products offer higher standards of quality, integrity, and welfare.

“The Ascot store is our first worldwide flagship which will showcase our natural products to visiting international trade customers and offers our UK customers an extended product range with our award-winning natural grooming and veterinary services.”

Pet Corner’s parent company, Pet Family, recently secured an eight-figure funding package from HSBC UK to support its growth nationally and internationally, and to create up to 320 jobs nationwide.

Pet Family is using the multi-million pound funding to open 10 new stores throughout England by the end of the year. As well as Ascot, these include ones at Chelmsford, East Grinstead, Newbury and Colchester.
