What to expect at Petindex

The Pet Industry Federation has announced further details of what visitors to the show can expect at the event later this year.

Taking place from Sunday 26 and Monday 27 April 2020 at the Marshall Arena (Stadium MK) in Milton Keynes, Petindex will offer a fresh take on the traditional industry trade show and provide an innovative range of features to encourage visitors from the full spectrum of the pet industry to engage with exhibitors.

Forty seminars covering retail, pet grooming, animal wellness and pet services will take place over the two days in three seminar rooms. The seminars will be ‘silent seminars’, with attendees wearing headphones, so the audio quality won’t be affected by external noise. Topics will include pet audience market segmentation; brand protection, grooming nervous dogs, cats and stress; enrichment for dogs; trends in pet food, CBD and its uses and what should be in your pet first aid kit….to highlight but a few.

Visitors can expect show offers from exhibitors and novel features, such as a wine trail, to make their experience at the show a little different. In addition, a Product Showcase area will display a selection of pet products put forward by exhibitors as part of the Pet Innovation Awards, and visitors will be able to have their say by voting for the winners. On set-up day, exhibitors will be able to obtain discounted tickets for the football match taking place in the adjacent stadium.

PIF members can look forward to fast-track access at the show and entry to the PIF members’ lounge with their new membership cards.  There will also be meeting pods, on-site catering, free parking, excellent road and rail access with complementary shuttle bus to the venue.

An increase of over 100% in applications for the Pet Industry Awards will help to make the Awards Dinner, in the ballroom of the Hilton DoubleTree Milton Keynes on Sunday 26 April, the most exciting ever. Fabulous entertainment will be in the form of talented digital illusionists and a live band, alongside an excellent three course dinner and networking opportunities into the earlier hours.

The British Dog Grooming Championship takes place on Sunday 26 April to determine the 2020 Groomer of the Year, with classes aimed dog groomers of all abilities. There will also be classes taking place under European Grooming Association rules and a range of European judges will be in attendance to oversee proceedings. A firmly established and successful event now in its 38th year, the competition attracts dozens of competitors each year and will be supported by a range of grooming demonstrations from top UK and overseas groomers, including Sathit Suratphiphit, a world renowned expert on the Asian style of dog grooming from the Starwood School of Grooming in Thailand.
