Pet shop plans to relocate to boost footfall

A pet shop is planning to move to new premises in a seaside town 10 miles away in a bid to boost footfall.

Frankie and Twinkles Pet Supplies has been based on Belford Industrial Estate in Northumberland for the past 18 months, but the owners now hope to transfer their business to a busier spot in Seahouses.

Ruth and Malcolm Riley plan to open the new shop by the spring.

Ruth told the Northumberland Gazette: “Hopefully Seahouses has more footfall and we will see more customers.”

The couple had looked to move from the industrial estate into premises in the high street of Belford but eventually decided on an empty unit in Seahouses.
