In 2020 the Companion Animal Nutrition (CAN) Conference, running in partnership with the Pet Food Manufacturers Association and the University of Northampton, will return on Thursday 13th February 2020 at the University of Northampton (Waterside Campus).

This conference brings together researchers, industry professionals and students to discuss a range of topics including nutrient requirements, diet formulation, feed production, feeding practices, feeding behaviour and enrichment and feed related health issues in pets.

The theme for the conference will be Feeding for Behavioural Enrichment with a keynote address by Dr Sandra Mccune in the morning, and a panel discussion in the afternoon.

Sarah Hormozi, PFMA Science & Education Manage,r advises: “CAN Conference is unique because it emphasises on all aspects of feeding and nutrition in companion animals only. Our 2016 CAN Conference was a real success with research presented on several species of small mammals, fish and exotic pets as well as cats and dogs. We look forward to seeing the latest science in pet nutrition at the CAN Conference 2020.”

Deadline for abstract submission is 15 November 2019 (23:59 GMT).

To submit a contribution for consideration delegates need to provide a title and abstract along with contributor names and affiliations, and a contact email address. It should be clearly indicated whether you are requesting an oral or poster presentation. All submissions will need to be in English (UK), with a maximum word limit of 300 words. All abstracts should be submitted by email to Dr Wanda McCormick via wanda.mccormick2@northampton.ac.uk. Time for oral presentations will be approximately 20 min (including questions). Posters will need to be provided in A1 size and portrait orientation and can demonstrate primary research, industry case studies or topic reviews.
