The founder of Butcher’s Pet Care, Graham Baker, has confirmed the company’s commitment to growth despite Brexit, with a £17 million factory expansion off the back of booming trade.
The business in Crick, Northamptonshire already produces six million cans of pet food for dogs and cats each week and sells in 11 countries.
With sales of almost £100m, Butcher’s Pet Care has been trading for over 30 years and is currently expanding its factory operation by an additional 50% to adapt to the growing export market.
An independent, British, family firm with an international outlook, the Baker family has been involved in the meat farming and butchery business for three generations.
The company today is brand leader as the UK’s No.1 canned dog food manufacturer. Next to the UK, its biggest market is Poland which is growing by approx. 8% per year.
Responding to the new players in the market, the brand has focused on its heritage as beef farmers and making the butcher the heart of the story. The products are based on natural nutrition, all-meat recipes that are gluten free.
