UK Pet Food to showcase at London Vet Show

UK Pet Food is returning to the London Vet Show to reconnect with the veterinary community. Visit stand D45 to participate in the organisation's survey and learn more about its latest initiatives and educational resources.

Panel Discussion: 'Processed with Purpose: Unpacking the Pet Food Debate'

Date: Friday, November 15, 2024

Time: 9:00 AM – 9:50 AM

Location: Exhibitor Showcase Theatre 2, Excel Exhibition Centre, London

Capacity: 50 seats

UK Pet Food invites veterinary professionals to an informative panel discussion on pet food processing, exploring its impact on nutrition, safety, and sustainability. Titled “Processed with Purpose: Unpacking the Pet Food Debate," this event will also explore the truths and misconceptions around terms like “processed” and “ultra-processed”, addressing comparisons with human food processing.

Focusing on informing veterinary professionals, and answering their questions, this event will offer insights into how different processing methods play a vital role in producing complete and balanced foods for pets, while offering plenty of choice to pet owners.

The panel will be chaired by Michael Bellingham, Chief Executive of UK Pet Food, and feature speakers, including Dr Andrew Miller (UK Pet Food Veterinary Nutrition Committee), Cat Henstridge, and Caroline Curtis (UK Pet Food Sustainability Committee). Attendees are encouraged to participate in an interactive Q&A session, with roving microphones for audience engagement.

Launch of New Factsheet

Sarah Hormozi, UK Pet Food’s Head of Science and Education, commented:  “We are pleased to launch the publication of our latest factsheet, Processed with Purpose: Understanding Pet Food Processing Methods and Their Applications, to coincide with our panel session. This will enable our event participants to take away UK Pet Food’s official position on this important topic, empowering them to discuss it with their clients and pet owners.”
