The moment Eddie met the Queen

This is the moment that Eddie Milbourne, managing director of the Symply Group, met the Queen at Buckingham Palace after the pet food company was honoured with the Queen's Award for Enterprise..

Eddie Milbourne commented: “I am absolutely delighted to celebrate this award with the local community, for whom I am eternally grateful for their support over the years. Many of my team are based in surrounding areas and have all played a huge part in helping achieve our success.”

Following his 30-year career in the pet food industry, Eddie set up Symply in 2009. After nine years, the business now exports to 35 countries and turns over £21.5 million despite just having 20 permanent employees.

“I have done many amazing things in my career, but this is without a doubt the highlight thus far. I want to thank in particular the hard work of my team, support of my family and HRH’s team in choosing Symply as the rightful winner of this award.”

James Milbourne, Eddie’s son who works alongside his father in running the company said: “We are incredibly proud to receive this award for our achievements in overseas markets, which is testament to the dedication, hard work and collective focus of our team, distributors and suppliers.”

“After years of consistent and increased focus to leverage growth internationally, it is hugely satisfying to have our efforts recognised and certainly motivates us to continue our strategy to offer high quality pet food to consumers all over the world.”

With its focus on good nutrition and natural ingredients, Symply is building up a strong following amongst pet owners globally, with a loyal customer base in European and Asian markets.
