New pet treat brand hits supermarket shelves

A new pet treat brand called Bonkers has been launched in Sainsbury’s stores across the UK, with prices starting at £1.20.

The range comes in three flavours for dogs and four for cats, and the low calory snacks include Bangin’ Beef, Paw Lickin’ Chicken, and Salmon Supreme.

Created in collaboration with leading animal nutritionists, Bonkers’ recipes are made up of high-quality proteins and are free from wheat, soy, artificial colours and flavours.

Bonkers head of marketing Anna Tompkins, said: “Millennials and Gen Z are redefining the owner-pet relationship: their pets are more humanised than ever, parented and pampered. No longer ‘just animals’, they are fur-babies, integral to the family. Pets bring so much joy to people’s lives, which is why our mantra is ‘better when it’s Bonkers’.

“We want to help pet parents celebrate the unique personalities of their pets, and we can’t wait for cats and dogs across the UK to try our delicious treats.”
