Pet shop appeal after theft of gecko

A pet shop posted CCTV pictures of the theft of a gargoyle gecko and urged the person responsible to return it immediately.

The Exotics Hub in Hull said the welfare of the animal, worth £250, was the most important thing.

On its Facebook page, the store posted: “Attention. Shop theft. Happened on Friday 5/4/24 @14.20. Stolen Gargoyle Gecko. Reported to the police. Return within 24 hours and there will be no further action.”

Shop owner Sarah Dixon told the BBC that she noticed the animal had disappeared as she carried out a routine water and feeding check on the animals.
