Groom Room raises £20k for Air Ambulance

Colleagues at the Groom Room at Pets at Home have raised £20,000 for Air Ambulance Service, following a nationwide fundraising drive from the 260 salons across the country.
The combined fundraising efforts of the Groom Room colleagues will ensure that local Air Ambulance services can continue to rescue hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year.
Air Ambulance’s lifesaving missions are funded entirely by generous donations, with the service not receiving any government funding. Air Ambulance will distribute the total donation made to regional centres across the country.
The bumper donation was raised after a number of different activities were hosted in stores from September-November in 2016 - ranging from name the dog competitions, fancy dress and great British bark off bake sales.
Colin Archibald, Head of Groom Room at Pets at Home said: “We’re proud of our salon colleagues and customers across the country, for making this impressive donation possible. The lifesaving work that Air Ambulance does across the country makes a huge impact, so we’re delighted to be able to support such an important cause.”
Liz Campbell, Chair for the Association of Air Ambulances (Charity) Ltd, added: “It is an absolute pleasure on behalf of the UK air ambulances to thank The Groom Room management, staff and customers in raising this generous amount that will directly assist saving the lives of seriously sick and injured patients.”
