A pet shop in Cumbria has revealed it rehomes more than 100 abandoned animals in 2023.
Little Beaties, in Ulveston, took in 109 pets last year and managed to find them homes.
Owner Mandy Christopher said on the shop’s Facebook page: “I usually start the New Year with a post about the rescue and rehoming work we do. During 2023 we took in and rehomed 109 animals!
“These range from rabbits, guinea pigs and small rodents to reptiles, birds and tarantulas.
“We cover all the costs by raising money selling used pet items that get donated to us, from the adoption fee when someone rehomes from us, from helping people out and them donating in return and by donations made in our box on the shop counter.
“We couldn't provide this service if it wasn't for all the lovely people who donate items, adopt from us, share our posts, pop change in the box and spread the word about the work we do so a massive THANK YOU! to you all.”
