The annual British Dog Grooming Championship at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre saw a record 900 people through the doors to watch dozens of groomers clipping and scissoring their way to success.
Lois Dalton was crowned as Groomer of the Year 2017 and Advanced Group winner; Chelsea Ross was named Newcomer of the Year; and Emma Bull was the Experienced Group winner.
Alongside the competition, 45 trade stands were in attendance at the event organised by the British Dog Groomers’ Association.
Other highlights included the BDGA’s tombola, which raised over £300 for Guide Dogs for the Blind, and the traditional ‘bring and buy’ stand, which encouraged groomers to bring their unwanted items to sell at the event.
The members’ area, a VIP section exclusively for BDGA members and sponsored by insurance brokers, Jelf, was also well attended throughout the day.
The full list of winners can be found on the Pet Industry Federation website at www.petfederation.co.uk. Official photographs from the event will be available at www.groomersgallery.com
The date for the 2018 British Dog Grooming Championship is Sunday 28 October.
