New look wet packs from Royal Canin Feline Breed Nutrition
The Royal Canin Feline Breed Nutrition range represents an ideal way for the specialist pet trade to build customer loyalty, with specialist products for eight of the most popular breeds, and most in need of a tailor-made diet because of their physiology.

In the brand’s latest move in redeveloping its packaging to create maximum stand out on shelf, two Feline Breed Nutrition wet packs – British Short Hair and Maine Coon – have been given a new look, and a new product added, Persian in Loaf. The new look is designed to enhance the products’ premium quality and make the range as easy as possible to navigate.  The loaf format is highlighted, as are the key product benefits.

Persian in Loaf offers similar nutritional benefits as the existing Persian Dry food, specifically tailored to the breed’s nutritional requirements, using an exclusive combination of nutrients to help support skin and coat health, as well as helping maintain digestive health and a healthy urinary system.

Wet foods remain popular with owners, with six in 10 cat owners feeding both wet and dry food, and 98 per cent of them feeding wet food every day. With this in mind, the dry and wet Persian diets are perfectly suited to be fed in combination and guidelines for this can be found easily on the products packaging.

“The grocery sector remains very strong as a source of cat food, with 70 per cent of owners only buying cat food from there” says Gemma Duffield, Royal Canin retail marketing manager.

“However, we do know that these customers will visit the specialist pet trade for other reasons, and cat owners are a valuable prospect, buying over twice as many items as dog owners, visiting almost twice as many times a year, and spending 15% more per pet.

"This is why we are doing everything we can to switch the cat owner’s focus to the specialist pet trade, so that our partners in the sector can benefit from the added business and so that more cats can benefit from health nutrition, whether wet or dry.”
