Ellen Schofield, team captain of Cambridgeshire Flyball, sent this message at the end of 2024 …

2024 has to have been one of our most successful years to date. It's been crazy hard work but as a team, we are super proud.

• We absolutely obliterated our club record again this year, breaking it four times throughout the year and ending on a 14.29s, making us the 6th fastest team in the world… EVER!
• We also posted 14 new individual team records over the course of the year, with our 2nd team joining the sub-16 club
• We debuted 3 dogs into league as well as another 2 into singles.
• We hosted 10 UK Flyball League events at our lovely barn
• We won a staggering 42 divisions (out of 67 entered) with our league teams
• We have recorded 39 PBs for 20 different dogs in our club.
• We bred our first ever sports mix litter under our very own Elvershire KC affix and have loved watching these incredible puppies grow over the year
• We welcomed 5 puppies (2 BW, a cocker, a lab & a BC) and 9 new dogs into our team along with 2 lovely new team members
• We were sad to see 5 of our members leave to head off to pastures new but we wish them every success for their future
• We were also very sad to lose two absolutely incredible dogs, both very suddenly - Bailey & Ossie - we miss you both VERY much
• We represented the UK at the 2024 Flyball Open World Cup and came 4th in the WORLD!
• We are the UKFL Gold Cup Runners-up and have qualified for Crufts 2025.
• We successfully transitioned 3 teams of dogs from indoor to outdoor racing and took them across to the European Championships in Belgium... with the CANINES coming 4th in division 1!
• Our dogs have earned themselves 34 UKFL awards - 6 Cadet; 5 Cadet Advanced; 8 Cadet Superior; 5 Pilot Officer; 3 Flying Officer; 5 Flying Officer Advanced; 2 Flying Officer Superior
• And finally, we end the year TOP of the UKFL league list, TOP of the UKFL Singles List (Vegas) and TOP of the UKFL Pairs List (Vegas & Kylo)
